Inter-School Volleyball Game | Print |
This friendly competition, held in November, between school teams consists of parents and school staff and celebrates the spirit of our schools.  The interschool volleyball game began in 1992 with the opening of Abingdon Elementary School.  The entire student population  of Abingdon Elementary School came from the William Paca/Old Post Road Elementary School which was significantly overcapacity.  The volleyball game between the community of Abingdon Elementary School and the community of William Paca/Old Post Road Elementary School recognized the importance of the ongoing relationship between the two schools.  In 1997, all schools in the Edgewood area were invited to join the volleyball game which became a symbol for the celebration of community and the working relationship between the Edgewood Feeder Schools to enhance educational achievement for all students.

Admission to the event is one new book and the books are given to students to build at home libraries and to enhance reading achievement.
